Refunds for Mid-semester Withdrawal from Dormitory Due to Graduation, Leave of Absence, or Withdrawal from School Q&A
When students apply to withdraw from housing, the relevant refund regulations are as follows:
1. Fall and Spring Semesters (Academic Year Housing):
(1) Withdrawal on or before August 1 (for Fall) or January 1 (for Spring): A full refund (100%) of the housing fee and half (50%) of the dormitory deposit will be returned.
(2) Withdrawal prior to the officially announced move-in date (excluding the date itself): A full refund (100%) of the housing fee will be returned; however, the dormitory deposit is non-refundable.
(3) Withdrawal completed within 30 days of the announced move-in date: A three-quarters (75%) refund of the housing fee will be returned. If the amount deducted (25% of the housing fee) is less than the dormitory deposit amount, the deduction will be calculated based on the dormitory deposit amount instead.
(4) Mid-Term to Late-Term Withdrawal:
• From the 31st day after the move-in date until before the Mid-term Exam: A half (50%) refund of the housing fee will be returned.
• After the Mid-term Exam: The housing fees already collected are strictly non-refundable.
2. Summer Housing:
(1) Withdrawal prior to the officially announced move-in date (excluding the date itself): A full refund (100%) of the housing fee will be returned; however, the dormitory deposit is non-refundable.
(2) Withdrawal on or after the announced move-in date: The housing fees already paid are non-refundable. However, students withdrawing due to graduation, suspension (leave of absence), or expulsion (pursuant to Article 4, Paragraph 3) who complete their withdrawal within 20 days of the announced move-in date will receive a half (50%) refund of the housing fee.
3. Winter Break Housing:
(1) Withdrawal prior to the officially announced move-in date (excluding the date itself): A full refund (100%) of the housing fee will be returned; however, the dormitory deposit is non-refundable.
(2) Withdrawal on or after the announced move-in date: The housing fees already paid are non-refundable. However, students withdrawing due to graduation, suspension (leave of absence), or expulsion (pursuant to Article 4, Paragraph 3) who complete their withdrawal within 20 days of the announced move-in date will receive a half (50%) refund of the housing fee.
Once your housing withdrawal process is complete, the housing coordinator will initiate your deposit and housing fee refund. To ensure the refund process goes smoothly, please log in to the Student Housing System to verify and upload your personal postal or bank account information. Additionally, overseas Chinese and international students must upload a copy of their Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and ensure their correct ARC number is entered into the ID number field.
